It all began as a well-funded dream...

A LETTER

Dear Sirs and Madames,

Like all true patriots, I consider Ronald Reagan to be the greatest American President since George Bush. On top of that, he was a very famous movie star!

I support the efforts of the Ronald Reagan Legacy Project to have every great American landmark named after this great American. My organs swell with pride every time I fly into Ronald Reagan National Airport and I prey to G*d that I don’t crash! Next time I am in the city of Washington I plan to go straight to the Ronald Reagan International Train Center because I just love Ronald Reagan and trains!

Recently, I read of efforts to put Ronald Reagan’s face on the $10 dollar bill. I think this is a great idea! I’m looking at my $10 dollar bill now and it has a very uninteresting picture of George Hamilton, and he wasn’t even a very famous movie star! (Ha-ha, I know it’s not really the same guy!) Seriously, I read that this George Hamilton was the first secretary of the treasury and he wasn’t even a real President! I think it only makes sense to replace a very old picture of the man who started the federal treasury with a picture of the man who used it all when he made Star Wars.

I have another suggestion for you and I think it is a very good one. Like every one else, I also was upset when I learned that President Reagan had Alzheimer’s of the brain all along. I hope this shuts up all those stuped liberals who kept saying that he was out of touch when they learn that Ronald Reagan had Alzheimer’s, which is a disease and can’t be helped just like alcoholism.

So here is what I am thinking: everybody knows that Lou Gehrig died of “Lou Gehrig’s disease”. Of course, Lou Gehrig really died of a progressive neurological disorder known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, but everybody just says “Lou Gehrig’s disease”. Similiarly, I think we should try to get Alzheimer’s disease renamed to be “Ronald Reagan Disease”!

I did some reading and I found that Alzheimer’s disease was named after the doctor who invented it then named it after himself. I mean, he didn’t even die of it himself I don’t think! You know you have Alzheimer’s disease because you are demented and confused and suffer memory loss and impaired judgment. That is ezactly what happened to Ronald Reagan and millions of other Americans while he was President! This is a very serious disease and it effects mostly really old people. I think if we named it “Ronald Reagan Disease” then many people would understand how serious it is and we could spend lots of money to find a cure now like AIDS before we all get old too.

I hope that you like my idea and that we can honor the memory of Ronald Reagan before he is dead.

Yours in Ronald Reagan,

<your name>
